We Remember — Honoring those affected by the events of September 11, 2001
The VCF provides compensation to individuals who were present in the NYC exposure zone after the September 11th attacks and have since developed serious health conditions, including cancer, as a result of toxic exposure.
Anyone who lived, worked, or attended school below Canal Street in Manhattan between September 11, 2001 and May 30, 2002 for a total of 40 or more hours, and has been diagnosed with a WTC-related cancer, may be eligible for compensation.
If you previously filed with the VCF (settled, dismissed, or withdrawn before November 16, 2016), you may qualify for additional compensation if you have a new cancer diagnosis, your condition has worsened, or you have new supporting information.
You may be eligible if the following apply to you:
You were in Manhattan south of Canal Street (or along debris removal routes) between September 11, 2001 and May 30, 2002 for a total of 40 or more hours.
You have been diagnosed with a WTC-related cancer. Nearly all cancer types qualify, including respiratory, digestive, blood, skin, thyroid, breast, prostate, and rare cancers.
You lived in the area, worked in the area (including first responders, cleanup workers, and office workers), or attended school in the exposure zone during the qualifying period.
You do not currently have an attorney handling a VCF claim on your behalf. If you previously filed and settled before November 2016, you may still qualify to reapply.
Nearly all cancer types are covered under the VCF. If you have been diagnosed with any of the following, you may qualify:
There is no cost to find out if you have a case. Our review process is completely free with no obligation.
You pay nothing upfront. Legal fees are only collected if compensation is successfully recovered on your behalf.
